Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 2 lbs ground beef (or 85–90% lean)
  • 1 medium head green cabbage, thinly sliced (about 8–10 cups)
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3–4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (canned or fresh)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder or red pepper flakes (adjust for heat)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning or dried oregano
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned (6–8 minutes). Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Add sliced onion and garlic. Cook 3–4 minutes until onions soften.
  3. Stir in smoked paprika, chili powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add sliced cabbage and diced tomatoes. Cook 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender but still has some bite.
