High-Protein Cheesy Stuffed Burger Patties

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1½ lbs ground beef (80/20 or lean)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  • ½ cup diced green bell peppers
  • ¼ cup diced onion (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into thick patties. Make a small indent in the center of each.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4–5 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your liking.
  4. In the last 2 minutes of cooking, top each patty with diced green peppers (and onion if using) and a generous amount of shredded cheese.
  5. Cover the skillet for 1–2 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  6. Serve immediately.
